Retraction

A previous edition of this blog reported the following headline with respect to a recent security breach of the BC Government computer network:

Minister de Jong : hacker didn't access private information on Government computer; just deposited some "really hot porn links"

It has come to our attention that, as suggested in that headline, the hackers in question did in fact attempt to deposit pornographic material on the BC Government computer network .

While our reference to "porn links" was not completely accurate, it entailed a level of accuracy that clearly exceeds the well-established standards of this publication.

At the time our original headline was published, we knew only that a hacker had attempted to deposit files, but we had no knowledge whatsoever that the files were actually pornographic. Had we known this, we would made up something else completely unrelated to pornography -- for example, Minister de Jong's really pathetic mustache.

We at the Daily Delusive strive to fully mislead our readers every day. We deeply regret any actual information that our headline may have inadvertently imparted. If any of our readers feel better informed as a result of that headline, we sincerely apologize.

We will endeavor to do worse in the future.

The Editors
